Immune Boosting Matcha-Sesame Snack
Matcha powder is pulverized green tea leaves that is a great alternative to coffee or tea. It contains small amounts of caffeine without giving you the jitters: it is stimulating as well as relaxing.
Green tea leaves contains flavonoids; increases friendly bacteria an decreases the number of disease-causing bacteria. Green tea is mostly known for its epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). 30% of EGCG is found in green tea and is hereby one of the strongest antioxidants that protects excessive oxidation and boosts our immune system.
This satiating power snack has good fats and protein, combined with the sweetness of the dates it is a match(a) made in heaven!
Makes 20 bites
Ingredients:
150 gram unsweetened coconut flakes
2 tbsp. hemp seeds
2 tbsp. protein powder (vanilla whey protein)
120 gram almond butter
50 gram creamed coconut
3 Medjool dates (without pit)
2 tsp. matcha poeder
½ tsp. vanilla extract
70 gram almond flour (buy in store or make your own by mixing fresh almonds in a high speed food processor)
Sesame seeds to roll bites in.
In a food processor combine all ingredients (except sesame seeds) and mix on high speed for 1 minute. Form into small balls and roll into the sesame seeds. Enjoy right away or store in a glass container in the fridge. Remove from fridge 30 min. prior to eating.
